First Walk Of The Spring

We couldn't handle sitting in the house for one more minute.... Can't wait for the SUN....

There ARE Moms In Northbrook!!!!

Olivia and i have been going to a play group at the library since she was born. The first session was filled with nannies and hardly any moms (so frustrating). This session Brad has taken her and of course it was filled with lots of mommies! I couldn't have been more excited when he came home and told me we had been invited to a get together with all the families. We met so many wonderful families. Since the library group ended we decided to start our own play group, which i couldn't have been more excited for. Below are some of the kiddies in the group.

Just when i thought there couldn't be anymore moms out there i met another adorable new family at church today. They have a 2 month old little girl and her husband, like Brad played basketball in college.  It is so nice to have other moms that stay at home with kids our same age. Its nice to be going through all the same things at the same time. I can tell this spring is going to be filled with lots of walks and park time. I can not wait for it to be nice out again!!!

New Burpies

Just sold my first set of burpies for a baby shower! They don't know the sex of the baby so i made them unisex. Thought they turned out pretty well. I tied them with a ribbon i made from the material i used in the burpies (watched Martha making her own ribbon and had to try it, it totally completes the project) . Let me know what you think.

Olivia's First Haircut

Olivia has been sporting a fashionable mullet for a couple weeks now. We thought it would be nice to cut it for her. Now all her hair can catch up with the back. So after a fun bath this morning we cut her hair.

My Girls New Ride (Bumble Ride Indie)

      So i have been searching and searching for the right double stroller. I have looked at all of them and the best one i have found is this Bumble Ride Indie. The facts that i was considering when picking out a double stroller were: the Graco Car Seat that we already have, if i need side by side or front and back, it had to have real wheels and not plastic to support the weight, good shocks because i love love love walking in the spring and summer, if Olivia who is 32" tall already would still fit in it at 2 and it it had storage for all the things you need for a newborn & 1.5 year old. I went through Babies R Us and checked out all there strollers first, because they have reasonable prices and i love shopping there. I found one Graco that i really liked and seemed to fit all my requirements except for the fact that the wheels were plastic and more importantly the seat Olivia would be sitting in had reviews that once a toddler reaches 40" they didn't fit in it anymore. Now this normally wouldn't be a problem for most children, but Olivia is very tall for her age and i am sure by 2 she will most likely be close to 40". So that stroller was out. I found a few more at Target and again ran into the same issue. The other issue i was finding with even higher end strollers was that there wasn't a universal car seat attachment. You had to have the car seat that fit that particular brand. To say the least i was getting very frustrated. 

    I finally broke down and went on the Bumble ride web site. The reviews were raging! Every single thing i needed in a double stroller, this stroller had. It fits through all doors, it has a universal car seat attachment, it has amazing shocks and Olivia will be able to fit in it until she is 5 (as long as she isn't 10 feet tall by that time, in which case she will be walking), it has plenty of storage and some great add on features, not to mention the color patterns are fantastic. We went into Galt Toys to test it out and loved it even more. If you are having a second and need a double stroller i would highly recommend making a small investment and purchasing this one. 

Its A Girl:)

I am now 22 weeks pregnant and feeling fantastic! A little more then half way done. We got our first ultra sound two weeks ago and found out we are having another GIRL!  I must say i was very very surprised. Brad comes from three boys and his dad comes from five! Since the sex of the baby is determined from the man i just assumed from the very beginning we would have all boys. We have been delightfully surprised for a second time now. With Olivia i felt like she was a girl from the beginning. That could have been because i really wanted a girl, i have no idea if it was intuition or not. The beginning of this pregnancy i had no idea. I assumed it would be a boy because there is no way in the Gierke gene pool i would have another girl for as long as we are having babies. Brad knew from the beginning it was a girl. Either way bill of health for the little one is great and she is right were she is suppose to be according to my due date. Here is her first picture.

Olivia seems to be very excited, but who knows. Every time i come to get her out of her bed she lifts up my shirt and kisses my tummy. Sometimes she waves at her. She certainly knows something is in there and something is going on. Brad and i got her a cabbage patch baby for Christmas and she rocks it and feeds it a bottle. We also got her a stroller which she puts the baby in (sometimes she tries to get in it herself) and walks around the house with it. I think she is going to be a little mommy when this baby comes, which would be so cute. So to say the least i am going to have my hands full, but i am so looking forward to all the excitement and love that is going to fill out house in 3.5 short months.
